Tzedakah Projects
The Hebrew word tzedakah is often translated as "charity" but in reality it means "justice."
Teaching and giving knowledge, ideas, encouragement, support, and inspiration (blessings) is a big part of my Torah portion. I have been tutoring Hebrew in pre-K through 4th grade at Talmud Torah of St. Paul for a year and a half. This teaching is one of my tzedakah projects.
I also support organizations that help to end hunger. I've volunteered several times at Feed My Starving Children, and if you can volunteer to pack food there, I encourage you to do so. I support MAZON: A Jewish Response to Hunger, which "provides provide for people who are hungry while at the same time
advocating for other ways to end hunger and its causes." Please consider giving a donation to either Feed My Starving Children or MAZON.
